Art and creative play projects aimed to promote confidences, self-expression and coping skills

Welcome to Superpower me – A collection of art and creative play projects aimed to promote confidence, self-expression and coping skills. Although the content is mainly aimed at building confidence in children, we invite people of all ages to participate!

During lockdown, whilst the Art Rooms is unable to welcome the public into our physical space, we are providing online content and a virtual space to continue links within our creative community. If you have limited or no internet access, you can also collect a printed pack version of the programme from our friends at Precision Imaging, 4 High St, Kings Heath; just down the road from ARKH.

We will provide step-by-step guides to different motivational creative projects that can be either be completed as one-off projects or as part of the full 12-week programme. This is a safe space for creative thinking to build a fun and expressive personal journal for each participant building self-confidence, well-being and self-expression.

Starting on Wednesday 20th January. A weekly Zoom meeting will be a safe space for sharing your ideas and thoughts as you craft, or you may wish to make in advance to share at the meeting.

These sessions will be held every Wednesday at 5pm. If you wish to take part in the weekly sessions, please email us  and the Zoom link will be sent to you in advance of the meeting.

If you need to work offline Project Packs are available from Precision Imaging on the High Street.

Kirstie Lewis will be delivering the programme of creative projects, along with some special guests, over 12 weeks and you are invited to participate in the full programme; or dip in and out as you wish.

Kirstie is a professional artist who graduated with a first-class degree in fine art and has a socially engaged art practice. Currently studying Psychotherapeutic counselling and hypnosis; with a mind to merge mental health and creativity.

During 2019 Kirstie worked with Crisis and rough sleepers during the Coventry biennial; helping to create work and open the worlds first homeless gallery. Before pandemic restrictions, Kirstie had started crafting and chatting weekly workshops with social groups crafting for change for local and social issues and is keen to reawaken the spirit of this remotely.
